it portrayed the gospel without "Jesus Christ". The second half of the movie was mellow without Rome in the picture (with Christ on the scene, I guess you can't expect chaotic drama in your life).įinally, the biggest issue I had with the movie. At this poin t, the settings and the persona of the main character changes which makes it feel like two loosely-connected movies in one. I had assumed that the movie would be about the main character's search for Christ which would end in him finding a resurrected Jesus, however, he finds Jesus midway through the movie. They did good not rehashing the entirety of the crucifixion. Would have been nice though if the crosses looked more like a lower-case "t" instead of a capital one. The production value was good and I didn't detect any troubling doctrinal errors much. The world has had a refined and purified English version of the Bible for a good 150 years so I never understand the need to have the story of Jesus Christ remain in dead languages with pagan definitions. A big plus for having this movie in the common tongue of the intended audience: English speakers.
